Hi all,
Many thanks for all the great info hither, absolutely a gilded mine of noesis.
Prepare a 12' Intex for my son in 2016. Afterward lurking and reading a bunch here, replaced the goofy cartridge filter/pump with a 14" Intex sand filter, 1650 pump, and a separate SWG unit of measurement.
Awesome crystal clear pool with the 'oversize' filter. Don't anyone ever question changing to common salt h2o set, they work great.

At closing final fall, the pump wouldn't run and so it got put away without the last backflush every bit serious freezing temps were emanate that night.
I only pulled it out of storage and found the problem is the factory rocker switch frozen up.
Start action was to come up here to research the issue, finding several threads with the aforementioned problem.
Most suggestions are to forget the built in switch and use other timer and gfi, etc.
At that place is mention of a Hayward switch only the pic shows only two terminals, not 3. Of the few rocker switches I saw, none had the waterproof encompass.

Offset I would like to confirm if anyone has e'er found a directly replacement that fits (in the waterproof housing) without modification?
This is the little problem rocker:
Intex Pump Problem

I don't mind improvement modifications but correct now I would like to go simple, piece of cake, direct replacement.
Salve the modifications for when we set up the ix'x18' in June ;-)

Sincere cheers,
Dave

PS: cheers for the great thread & video on deep cleaning the sand, I had thought of trying something like that but wasn't sure. Definite on the listing before opening.

Thanks for the bump kimkats. I estimate no one has plant a direct replacement.
Why should Intex sell a replacement switch for a few bucks when they tin can just sell you lot a whole new pump?

For temporary I connected the switch wires with a jumper and am using the GFI on the terminate of the cord for a switch.
At to the lowest degree it got the organization running so we can do an initial vac and make clean before doing a deep clean of the sand filter.

I know someone has to make a 3 position switch that will fit because that size hole is pretty standard. Just haven't found one yet.

Cheers again, Dave

That looks mutual. Have information technology out and go to the hardware store. They should have it on the shelf.

Hardwire it to bypass the switch and put it on an outdoor timer. You may need to cut off the GFCI on the cord equally the timer may trip it when it kicks on. And so *exist certain* the excursion yous plug it into is GFCI protected.
